Bluestone Patio Replaces Outdated Deck
By Environmental Enhancements, Inc., Pat Falvey
We recently completed a project where the client wanted an outdated deck removed and a larger, more inviting patio constructed in their backyard. After removing the deck we constructed a (500) square foot Pennsylvania Bluestone flagstone patio over a reinforced concrete foundation. Leading from the back door are a set of semi circular steps that are flanked by a 4 foot high planter wall for seasonal plantings. Framing the patio is a set of 18 inch high stone seat walls with lighting built in. Off to the side is a 4 x 10 matching flagstone pad to accommodate the grill and a smoker. New plantings surrounding the patio will enhance the outdoor environment while complementing the stone work.

It is always a pleasure to work with enthusiastic clients, here is just a little of the feedback we received.

“Well, well, well – do I have a nice patio or what. Unfortunately Bob will not be able to see how nice since it has been covered with plastic – in the event it rains. Really it just seems like I just mentioned I wanted to seriously do it – and now I have this great patio. I realize I still have more to do – fix the siding – get the electrician in here and getting those unsightly wires straightened out, but when you think where I was 3 weeks ago – it is really amazing. I will enjoy this patio for the rest of my life. Now comes the plants – WOW I can’t wait. YEAH. Pat and Kyle – beautiful ideas and GREAT EXECUTION. I can’t wait until the front gets done – more to come.”
